Terms of use
Creating transfers and requests requires an authorised account. Public account registration is not available. Recipients can access valid shared links subject to their restrictions.
1. Provider, service and scope
The provider is TSOKAS G. WIDEVIEW ENTERTAINMENT L.P. (Greek registered name: TSOKAS G. WIDEVIEW ENTERTAINMENT Ε.Ε.), trading as Wideview Entertainment, VAT EL803334554, Greek business register (GEMI) 194800101000, 58 Grigoriou Lampraki, Glyfada 16675, Greece. Contact: [email protected], telephone +30 210 2205089.
WideTransfer provides upload, temporary hosting and sharing with chosen recipients, and file collection through requests. These terms cover widetransfer.app and wdtrf.link, two addresses of the same service. There is no public file directory. An “owner” creates a transfer or request, a “recipient” accesses shared files and a “submitter” sends files to a request.
Please also read the acceptable-use policy, privacy policy and notice procedure. The privacy notice explains processing; it is not blanket consent for every use of personal data. A specific data processing agreement prevails for its subject matter without limiting mandatory legal rights.
2. Access and account security
Creating transfers and requests requires an active account. Downloading and submitting to a valid request may be possible without an account. You must have the legal capacity or authority necessary for your use. If acting for a business or another person, ensure that you are authorised to represent them.
Provide accurate details, protect your password and request revocation of sessions you do not recognise. You are responsible for actions you authorise, not automatically for every action of someone who unlawfully obtains access. Report suspected access promptly to [email protected], without sending your password.
3. Plans, features and any charges
Your plan and agreed account settings determine storage, transfer size, file count, duration and features. Available limits are communicated when access is provided and through available account functions. Total storage or transfer size does not guarantee that every format or individual file can be checked and made available. Section 6 security limitations still apply.
These terms alone create no charge, subscription or automatic renewal. Any purchase requires clear advance information about the total price, taxes, duration, renewal, cancellation and any withdrawal right, together with your required acceptance. An advertised future feature is not an existing service commitment.
4. Transfers, requests and recipients
Upload completion does not certify a file’s safety. Availability depends on the transfer state and applicable restrictions. Anyone holding the link may gain access, subject to passwords, download limits, expiry and other restrictions. A link does not verify a recipient’s identity. Recipients may forward it or keep copies.
Check the destination before sharing a link, password or recipient email. A request creator receives the files, name and optional details you submit. Verify who is requesting them and why. The service sends automated emails for supported actions and notifications. Delivery may be delayed or fail; you may also share the link directly. Service notifications do not imply consent to marketing.
5. Content, rights and confidentiality
You retain your rights in files. You grant only the necessary non-exclusive permission for technical operations: storage, transfer, supported previews or ZIP creation, security checks and lawful operation, for the service and lawful retention period. Ownership does not transfer. We receive no permission for independent commercial exploitation, advertising or AI model training using your content.
You must have sharing rights and an appropriate lawful basis for third-party personal data. For particularly sensitive information or specialised professional duties, assess suitability and additional safeguards first. Accepting these terms does not replace a data processing agreement a business customer may need.
6. Security checks and their limits
Malware checks are required before files become available, within the scanner’s technical limits. Files with detected malware or an incomplete check remain unavailable, subject only to the specific size exception below. We do not commit to a particular commercial antivirus product.
Files above 2 GB that the scanner records as unscannable solely because of size may be made available with a prominent “Not scanned for viruses” label. Separate, explicit recipient acceptance is required before download, including within a ZIP or request submission. Acceptance concerns those specific files, lasts for one hour in the same browser and does not permit their preview. It does not bypass malware detection, other scanning failures, passwords, expiry or access restrictions. It is not a safety certification, consent to unrelated personal-data processing or a waiver of mandatory rights.
Use appropriate protection on your device and do not open suspicious files. Report a problem to [email protected] without attaching the material. No measure certifies legality, authenticity or complete absence of risk.
Communications use HTTPS. This version does not provide end-to-end encryption. Authorised access may be necessary for technical operation, security, notice assessment or a lawful order, limited to the necessary purpose.
7. Expiry, deletion and copies
Keep your own copy: the service is for file transfer and does not guarantee permanent archiving. Expiry or deletion stops new access from being issued. Previously issued temporary download URLs may remain valid for up to 60 seconds. A download already started or a recipient’s existing copy cannot be recalled.
Physical removal is a separate process. Periodic automated cleanup processes expired or deleted files and abandoned uploads. Technical failures or documented preservation may delay physical removal; request deletion at [email protected]. Link expiry is not confirmation of physical erasure. Any lawful preservation is assessed separately. Deleting a file does not simultaneously erase every history, case or backup record. Retention purposes and criteria appear in the privacy policy. Recovery of already deleted files is not guaranteed.
8. Prohibited use and notices
The acceptable-use policy applies. Illegal content, malware, infringement of others’ rights, account compromise, circumventing limits and disrupting the service are prohibited. The technical ability to upload does not mean that we approve the content.
The notice procedure is available without an account and allows email notices, human assessment and reconsideration. A notice alone neither causes deletion nor establishes that an unlawful act occurred.
9. Restrictions and suspension
Restricting content or an account may be necessary for a specific security risk, a material or repeated breach of terms, or a legal duty. We consider severity, context, available evidence, affected rights and less restrictive options. Immediate protection may require action before notification.
We provide the required explanation and review route, subject to specific lawful non-disclosure restrictions. A notice-related restriction may cover the entire transfer or request. Lifting one restriction does not lift an independent restriction or restore deleted files.
10. Closing an account
You may request closure at [email protected]. We verify identity and scope using only necessary information. Request return of available data before deletion; closure does not automatically extend existing expiry dates. A specific data processing agreement additionally governs return and deletion where applicable.
Disabling access and deleting data are separate actions. We explain lawful retention exceptions and applicable contractual rights. If we permanently discontinue the service for operational reasons, we provide reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to retrieve still-available files, unless prohibited by law or an immediate risk.
11. Availability and liability
We provide the service with the required care. Maintenance, faults, network issues or security measures may affect availability. Report a failure with its link or reference, without passwords or suspicious attachments.
We do not promise uninterrupted operation or zero risk. Your duty to keep a copy does not eliminate our responsibility. We do not exclude or limit liability where prohibited, or remove rights relating to defective service.
12. Consumer rights
Consumers retain mandatory protection applicable to their contract, including remedies, price reduction or termination where provided by law. Any statutory withdrawal right and its conditions must be explained before a relevant purchase. Using the service or downloading a file alone is not treated as a declaration waiving such a right.
13. Changes to terms and service
Changes may be necessary for law, security, technical compatibility or service improvement. We communicate material changes, their reasons and effective timing appropriately in advance, except where immediate legal or protective action is necessary. Updating this page cannot retrospectively waive rights or introduce a surprise charge.
Where law or contract requires consent, advance notice on a durable medium or free termination for an adverse change, we respect those requirements. A page update alone does not replace required acceptance.
14. Contact, law and disputes
Contact [email protected] in Greek or English for support or a dispute. Both language versions are intended to have the same meaning. Request clarification of any discrepancy; no language clause limits mandatory protection.
Greek law applies while preserving mandatory protection you are entitled to, particularly as a consumer in your country of habitual residence. No exclusive jurisdiction is imposed that deprives you of a competent court. Applicable out-of-court and supervisory remedies remain available. The respective policies explain specific privacy and content-notice procedures.
